This is a naturally-occurring crystal of the mineral Pyrite (Iron Sulfide) in a gypsiferous clay matrix. It was mined in Navajun, La Rioja, Spain. Pyrite is in the Isometric class of crystals. This specimen exhibits 90 degree angles and approximates a cube. Note the smaller adjacent 1/4” Pyrite cube. Again, this is completely natural and not modified.
