Dinosaur Coprolite SOLD
A coprolite is fossilized feces. Coprolites are classified as trace fossils as opposed to body fossils, as they give evidence for the animal's behavior rather than the actual body. These types of droppings have been studied by scientists to find evidence of the diet and habits of extinct creatures. This coprolite was left by a dinosaur that lived during the Jurassic Period and is about 150 million years old. It was found in the Morrison Formation in South Eastern Utah. Many dinosaur bones have also been found in this formation. The original fecal material has been completely replaced by multi-colored agate. The type of dinosaur it comes from is unknown but probably represents a species of herbivore. The specimen has one cut and polished face.
