• Paleomap  This site has, among other things, neat images of what Earth looked like during the various geological periods.  Witness the break up of Pangea!

• Washington State University  Geology Department

• The Austin Nature and Science Center has a Dino Pit where children of all ages can excavate various dinosaur "fossils".

GEM & MINERAL CLUBS & SHOW INFO

• Gemdata has a pretty complete list of all the rock shows around the country.  Check to see if there is a show near you.

• American Federation of Mineralogical Societies  Lots of good info here about gem clubs, rock hounding, links to other informative sites.

• The Austin Gem & Mineral Society meets the 4th Thursday of every month except December.

• The Central Texas Paleo Society is a good club for fossil lovers.

• The Dallas Paleo Society is another one.
